Councilors ‘incite drama and hysteria’ – Cowichan Valley Citizen

Letter: Counselors ‘incite drama and hysteria’

Advisors ‘incite drama and hysteria’

Phasing out gas-powered garden equipment in North Cowichan Councilors Marsh and Justice are inciting drama and hysteria by recommending that the use of gas-powered garden equipment be phased out in North Cowichan. These people have lost touch with the average person in town who is struggling with high taxes, rising interest rates and high inflation. As countries like India and China continue to build filthy, carbon-spewing thermal power plants, these two advisers suggest that we forcefully throw away all our equipment and replace it at high cost. , a cost most can’t afford, just because Oak Bay presumably mandated it. Furthermore, these two councilors ignore the fact that all farmers in North Cowichan use carbon fuels to run their equipment or that the council has even failed to stop the use of woodstoves in town because would be too financially taxing for those who burn wood.

We have the opportunity to bring some common sense back to council this October 15 during the municipal elections. Throw these two out of the office.
