Flower of Evil Becomes First-Ever K-Drama to Have an Indian Remake

Moon Chae Won and Lee Joon Gi’s popular 2020 tvN series Flower of Evil finally gets an Indian remake, and we’re already excited about the same. On August 17, 2022, the show’s production company confirmed the news that the Hindi remake of the K-drama titled Duranga The premiere is scheduled for August 19, 2022. As Indian audiences enjoy watching the series, we have yet another good news to share with K-drama fans. This is because Flower of Evil became the very first K-drama to have an Indian remake.

Remake Details

Indian remake, Duranga, will stream all of its nine episodes on the OTT platform ZEE5. Representatives of the platform stated, “The lively Asian culture and its inherent similarities are reason enough for Korean content to have a huge fan base in India. We are happy to be the first in Indian OTT industry to support Korean content redesign, [which was possible] thanks to the worldwide popularity of “Flower of Evil”.

The said platform also boosted fans’ excitement over the remake by releasing the teaser poster with a caption that read, “Can you really trust the ones you love?”

The popular Indian platform also released a trailer for Duranga which includes an intriguing description that reads: “Witness the duality that cradles Sammit and Ira’s perfect life, marked by a dark past and a string of murders.”

Flower of Evil

Talking about the original K-drama Flower of Evil, it aired two years ago and was a massive hit instantly. The series starred Moon Chae Won and Lee Joon Gi. The series chronicles the life of a man who appears to be the perfect husband and father but actually hides his true identity. His secrets have not yet been revealed to his wife, who is, ironically, a detective. As the woman begins to unravel the mysteries behind certain incidents, she seems to come closer to understanding that her perfect life isn’t so perfect.
