One-Act Plays Benefit Solon Drama Scholarship Fund

SOLON, OH — Four short plays will form the heart of Solon High School Drama Club’s “An Evening of One Acts.”

The public will have two chances to see the show, on February 11 and 12. The proverbial curtain rises at 7 p.m. every evening.

The one-acts will support the Solon Drama Club scholarship fund. General admission is $7 and tickets go on sale in early February.

This year’s one-acts are:

  • “A Company of Players” – Directed by Alex Hopkins and Romy VanAlmen. The show follows a struggling theater company that manages to land a gig at the royal court. Unfortunately, this royal court is Prince Hamlet’s castle and he wants them to put on a weird show that he himself wrote.
  • “The Very UnMerry Adventures of Robin Hood” – Directed by Natalie Miller and Tyler Murray. This show follows the iconic Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men as they enter a series of contests to prevent the destruction of Sherwood Forest.
  • “slasreveR neveS” – Directed by Mira Atwah and Collins Lewis. This seven-scene parody focuses on flipping things around (like the title).
  • “The Hallmarks of Horror” – Directed by Aliza Lieber and Luke Miozzi. This show combines horror and comedy and reveals the secrets of horror movie tropes.
