‘Succession’ Directors Score Clean Sweep in DGA Award Drama Series Nominations

The directors of HBO’s “Succession” scored a perfect 5 for 5 in the drama series category as the Directors Guild of America announced its nominations for the 2021 DGA Awards for Television, Commercials and Documentaries on Wednesday.

Of the five drama series nominees, all five went to the directors of a single episode of ‘Succession’, a comedy-tinged drama about a tycoon’s four adult children vying to succeed their father as head. of a media and entertainment conglomerate.

The makers of Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso” topped the comedy series category, picking up three of five nominations.

DGA film nominations will be announced on Thursday and all winners will be revealed on March 12 at the organization’s 74th annual awards ceremony.
