Hallmark channel ordered The way back, a new multi-generational family drama that also has a time travel twist. Marly Reed, Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke created the series which will go into production this summer. It is expected to debut in 2023. The cast will be announced soon.

“Hallmark Channel has launched an all-new primetime original series ‘The Way Home,’ an intergenerational drama set to begin production this summer in Ontario, Canada. The series will premiere on Hallmark Channel in 2023 with announcements The show is part of Crown Media’s commitment to developing quality programming that will resonate with viewers, and is the first new green-lit series under the direction of Lisa Hamilton Daly. The series is produced by the famous mother-daughter team of Heather Conkie (“Heartland”, “Port Hope”) and Alexandra Clarke (“Heartland”, “Hudson”).
“The Way Home” is a family drama that follows the lives of three generations of women within the Landry family that spans years through a twist of time travel. Kat Landry, her 15-year-old daughter, Alice, and Kat’s mother, Del, are all strong, willful and independent. More than 20 years ago, life-altering events created a chasm in their family that time has yet to mend. Kat and Del are still not on good terms. Alice has never met her grandmother and is unaware of the reasons for their fractured family. When all three generations reunite under one roof for the first time in more than two decades, a startling discovery unexpectedly puts the trio on the road to recovery and helps them find their way back to each other.

Alongside Conkie and Clarke, Larry Grimaldi, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew will serve as executive producers for MarVista with Arnie Zipursky and Marly Reed executive producing for Neshama.
